High Functional Material Laboratory

Functional materials, bulk superconductors, crystal growth, high field applications

By investigating the material synthesis conditions of bulk superconductors and the magnetization conditions and system configuration for high magnetic fields, we are conducting development of strong bulk superconducting magnet applications such as novel one-sided compact NMR system in collaboration with external organizations.

FOR SOCIETY

We research to discover new, functional materials to help achieve a carbon-neutral society. We explore hydrogen absorption/storage materials that will help with the energy transition. Hydrogen storage materials can, for example, replace tanks in fuel-cell cars and buses. We explore alternative oxygen production and storage methods to make sure that we can supply as much oxygen as needed, even in remote places, such as rural area hospitals.
